522L W Tax Code, am I in the right code ?
Hi, I’m a foreign student and because of my visa I can work only 20 hours per week. I got a job, my first job in the UK and I don’t know anything about tax codes, invoices, timesheets, etc.
The main point is this, through an recruitment agency an Umbrella company contacted me because the agency told me that as a contract employer I had to use an umbrella company in order to get my money, is that true?
This company putted me in a 522L W tax code is it the right code for me?
What another taxes do I have to pay?
Could I change this company to another? because I think they are taking more money than I think
If anyone could give me an personalised help I’ll really appreciate.
I’m really worried about it because my actual wage is £300 p/w and they take £100 and I never understand the payslips !!

522 sounds like the correct code, this allows you to earn £5225 a year before you pay tax, thats about £100 a week
